Daphne M. Robinson Shaw is Of Counsel in the Orlando office of Roig Lawyers. Daphne’s main area of practice for the firm is PIP/No-Fault.
Daphne has extensive experience defending insurers against claims for Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits under the Florida No-Fault Act and other insurance actions. During law school, Daphne was employed as a law clerk for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company where she gained extensive experience in litigating premises liability and bodily injury insurance claims and authored numerous opinion letters concerning a variety of commercial and personal insurance matters.
Daphne earned her Juris Doctor, with honors, from Florida Coastal School of Law where she also obtained a specialized Certification in Advanced Legal Research, Writing and Drafting. Daphne also had the privilege of serving two judicial clerkships, the first with the Honorable Ellen Sue Venzer of the Criminal Division for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Miami-Dade County and the second with Magistrate Robin K. Brown of the Family Division for the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Duval County. Working with Judge Venzer and Magistrate Brown offered Daphne the opportunity to gain valuable insight into how judges in both the domestic relations and criminal divisions view issues and evidence. This experience continues to influence Daphne’s legal strategies and the advice that she provides to her clients.
Prior to attending law school, Daphne was a senior level litigation paralegal for over 10 years with Balch & Bingham, LLP, Home Depot USA, Inc., Herman Mathis, LLP, and the Florida Department of Health.
Daphne is dedicated to providing legal services to the underprivileged and has served as a volunteer attorney for Bay Area Legal Services and Legal Aid Services of Broward County.
Daphne is a native of Ocala, Florida.
