ROIG Lawyers’ Attorney Selected State Treasurer for FAWL

June 23, 2016

Julie Harris Nelson, an attorney in the Miami office of ROIG Lawyers, was elected treasurer of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL).

Nelson was nominated and unanimously elected on June 16 by FAWL’s state Board of Directors at its annual meeting in Orlando. Nelson’s term continues until June 2017. She and the rest of the Executive Board were sworn in by Florida Supreme Court Justice Barbara J. Pariente at the morning board meeting and again that evening at the annual gala by Senior U.S. District Judge Patricia A. Seitz.

FAWL, which currently has more than 3,100 members, is a statewide organization with the mission of actively promoting gender equality and the leadership roles of FAWL’s members in the legal profession, judiciary and community at large.

ROIG Lawyers has been ranked #40 two years in a row in Law360’s “Top 100 Law Firms for Female Attorneys.”

“My position in FAWL is a testament to ROIG Lawyers’ commitment to diversity,” Nelson said.
