Roig Lawyers Sponsors Domestic Violence Panel Event

Roig Lawyers, a minority-owned, multi-practice litigation law firm dedicated to serving clients across six offices throughout Florida, is a proud sponsor of the Domestic Violence Panel Event: Focusing on the Past, Present and Future on October 1, 2015 held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Miami. The event will be hosted by The Dade County Defense Bar Association (DCDBA), Miami-Dade Chapter of Florida Association for Women Lawyers (MDFAWL), and Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association (GSCBWLA) during Domestic Violence Awareness month.

Roig Lawyers Miami attorney, Julie Harris Nelson, organized the event and will be the event’s moderator. The event will feature a panel of speakers who will discuss domestic violence issues. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to multiple domestic violence shelters in the Miami-Dade community.

Julie is actively involved with multiple organizations within the Miami-Dade community. As an executive board member of the Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Miami Chapter, Julie has dedicated the last 6 years of her life to nurturing future African-American leaders by strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service and philanthropic giving, and civic duty. She has also devoted countless hours volunteering at school settings through the Justice Teaching program. Julie has made a significant impact on diversity within the legal community through her heavy involvement in GSCBWLA, Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar AssociationThe Florida Bar, and as the Diversity and Inclusion Committee Liaison for FAWL.
