Ed Welch is an SIU Consultant in the Deerfield Beach of Roig Lawyers.
As the Firm's SIU Consultant, Ed is instrumental in working with our attorneys on the strategies in their investigations and single file issues, as well as possible issues with treatments billed and associated entities. In addition, he works with attorneys on the SIU team in EUO preparation and strategies. Ed also partners with our attorneys on continuing education presentations on topics regarding insurance industry best practices and trends.
Prior to joining the firm, Ed worked for several years as an SIU major case project lead with a large automobile insurance company. During that time, Ed’s investigations lead to millions of dollars in restitution as well as resisting non-meritorious amounts which were submitted then withdrawn by the subject entities. In 2007, Ed was presented the International Association of Special Investigative Units' (IASIU) Investigator of the Year award. That same year he was selected as the Florida Insurance Fraud Education Committee’s (FIFEC) Investigator of the Year. He also earned his Associate in Claims (AIC) and Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator (CIFI) designations during that time.
Earlier in his career, Ed spent nine years in the United States Air Force. He and his family enjoyed tours at MacDill AFB in Tampa, Ramstein AB in Germany and Blytheville AFB in Arkansas.
Ed grew up in a military family and lived in Alaska, Maryland, Turkey, Germany, the Philippines and California.
