Ivan Asencion is an attorney in the Miami office of Roig Lawyers.
Ivan concentrates his practice primarily on Personal Injury Protection (PIP)/No-Fault and civil litigation where he handles cases from inception through trial. Ivan started his career in the areas of criminal, family and immigration, soon after was offered a position in an insurance litigation firm. There he assumed the role of Litigation attorney, handling insurance cases were he obtained favorable results on behalf of his clients. Having a Plaintiff’s litigation background, Ivan brings his strategic knowledge and experience in dealing with insurance issues.
Ivan earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the Florida International University in 2012 and his Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2016.
While in law school, Ivan interned for a Judge in the Eleventh Criminal Circuit in the felony division. Ivan then participated in the St. Thomas Immigration Clinic; under supervision Ivan conducted hearings and trials in front of immigration judges. Upon graduation, Ivan was recognized by local newspapers in the representation of an asylum seeker in front of the immigration court which was ultimately awarded asylum. At last, Ivan was recognized by St. Thomas University Law School for his pro bono commitment to help people different nationalities throughout South Florida, and was awarded with the Pro-Bono Commendation Award.
