Game of Drones: Advances in Technology and Related Insurance Issues

The purpose of this course is to explore the emergence of drone usage and how it may impact the insurance industry. Insurance companies may start using drones to survey property damage after a significant event, such as a hurricane, or to simplify an adjuster’s time spent surveying and documenting property damage. However, drones operated for recreational use also create liability issues ranging from personal injury to property damage due to inexperienced users, equipment malfunctions, and retrieval of downed or fallen drones.
