ROIG Lawyers Expands Insurance Services Practice
Roig Lawyers is proud to announce the addition of attorneys William Finn, Clay W. Schacht and Birdy V. Vanasupa their Tampa and Orlando offices. The new attorneys have joined the firm’s Insurance Services and Litigation practices.
Finn will focus primarily in the areas of insurance defense litigation, trial litigation, first-party and third party litigation, as well as appellate practice and procedure. He has personally maintained over 200 litigation files during all aspects of representation from initial meetings and consultation, written and attended discovery, motion hearings, depositions, complete pre-trial workup through to jury verdicts. Prior to joining Roig Lawyers, he practiced general liability litigation with a focus on insurance defense and all aspects of civil litigation. Finn will join the Firm’s Orlando office.
Schacht will focus primarily in the area of insurance defense litigation. He has significant experience in the areas of third-party and first-party claims, premises liability, personal injury, worker’s compensation and wrongful death. Schacht has represented national insurance carriers as well hospitals, physicians and other medical professionals from pre-suit filings through resolution of claims and lawsuits. He also has previous experience representing clients in criminal matters, including numerous jury and non-jury trials. Schacht has drafted several appellate briefs and successfully argued before the Fifth District Court of Appeal. He has also appeared as lead counsel before The Florida Supreme Court and served as Guardian Ad Litem in Orange County, FL. Schacht will join the Firm’s Orlando office.
Vanasupa will focus primarily in the areas of insurance defense litigation. He has significant experience in the areas of personal injury and first-party claims such as homeowners insurance, private disability insurance, civil litigation, homeowner’s association law, and city, county, and local government law. Prior to joining ROIG Lawyers, Birdy represented clients in various civil defense matters, including, but not limited to, premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, defamation, and first-party claims such as homeowners’ insurance and PIP. He also briefly represented clients in plaintiff matters involving personal injury and first-party claims. Prior to practicing law, Birdy worked in the video game development industry for over 11 years as a 3D artist and developer. Vanasupa will join the Firm’s Tampa office.
