The Service learning day is led by CITIZEN’S staff accompanied by the City of Miami Naturalist/Arborist. During the project, volunteers will be toured through the nature trail to learn about the history and ecology of Virginia key and proceed to remove invasive and exotic plant species, propagate native plants in Virginia Key’s nursery, participate in clean-up of the coastline, and/or plant native plants in the coastal hammock and dune areas.
