With over 20 years of experience investigating insurance fraud, Ed specializes in identifying suspicious claims and uncovering complex fraud schemes to protect insurers and clients from financial loss.
Ed Welch concentrates his practice on insurance fraud investigations, Special Investigation Unit (SIU) consulting, and Examinations Under Oath (EUO) preparation, assisting attorneys and clients through every stage of the investigative and claims process—from initial file review and analysis to strategy development, EUO preparation, and ongoing litigation support. He provides practical, results-driven guidance to help identify suspicious claims, prevent fraud, and protect client interests.
Ed began his career in insurance investigations after spending over 20 years as an SIU Claim Specialist for a major automobile insurance company, where his work led to multimillion-dollar recoveries and the dismissal of non-meritorious claims. Since joining Roig Lawyers six years ago, he has worked closely with attorneys to develop investigative strategies, identify key documents and entities, and provide continuing education on industry best practices and emerging fraud trends.
At Roig Lawyers, Ed serves as the firm’s SIU Consultant, delivering strategic insights and practical solutions for clients navigating complex insurance fraud issues. Clients value his deep investigative experience, collaborative approach, and ability to provide actionable strategies to mitigate risk and protect their interests.
Ed also served in the United States Air Force, with tours of duty at MacDill AFB in Tampa, Ramstein AB in Germany, and Blytheville AFB in Arkansas. He grew up in a military family and lived in Alaska, Maryland, Turkey, Germany, Philippines, and California.
