Kristen White is a partner in the Deerfield office of Roig Lawyers and the managing attorney of our first-party property division.
Kristen manages all types of first-party property matters, such as claims denied pursuant to policy exclusions, claims denied pursuant to failure to comply with policy conditions, and claims wherein payment was issued and the amount of recovery due remains in dispute. During her file handling, she comprehensively and objectively reviews all aspects of the claim handling to determine the most efficient way to handle the defense of each particular matter.
Kristen has extensive experience preparing Motions for Summary Judgement and conducting corporate representative depositions. She is a frequent speaker on topics of first-party fraud claims and the new Assignment of Benefits (AOB) statute.
Kristen also has significant experience in the areas of personal injury protection (PIP)/No-Fault litigation and fraud (SIU) investigations. She has also assisted in the preparation of multiple cases for trial and is experienced in the use of alternative dispute resolution techniques when necessary.
Prior to attending law school, Kristen was a general manager of a multi-national restaurant chain. She spent the beginning of her career working to transform failing operations into prosperous ones, focusing on corporate standards, selective hiring, and rigorous training to ensure the continued success of each operation. Kristen spent the remainder of her restaurant career opening the first international locations for the restaurant chain in Canada working with both the local communities and corporate headquarters to ensure that a strong foundation was built and that brand was successfully launched.
Additionally, Kristen has been a successful entrepreneur and small business owner. She acquired a small property management and caretaking operation over 10 years ago and has been able to transform the operation into an elite enterprise all the while being successful in both restaurant management and the legal field.
While in law school, Kristen focused in the areas of Taxation and Real Property receiving certificates in both upon graduation. Kristen’s law school honors include Dean’s List and Book Award: Wills, Trusts, and Estates. She also had the opportunity to take many unique courses including Electronic Discovery. Additionally, she received a legal intern certificate granting her the limited ability to practice law at the Ohio Northern Legal Clinic. The certification allowed her the limited ability to practice law which included the creation and filing of pleadings as well as appearing as the attorney of record in hearings before the Court. While at the Ohio Northern Legal Clinic, Kristen practiced in a variety of areas including corporate transactional law assisting with cases involving non-profit organizations as well as domestic relations.
