Kathryn A. Desire is an associate in the Deerfield Beach office of Roig Lawyers.

Kathryn concentrates her practice in the area of first party property insurance defense litigation. She has gained invaluable legal experience at several law firms prior to joining Roig Lawyers. Kathryn has experience in various areas of law, including insurance defense, both third party and first party property, windshield litigation, general liability, and workers’ compensation. At Roig Layers, Kathryn handles all aspects of insurance defense cases, including the development of litigation strategies, providing representation in various court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and mediations, as well as negotiating the resolution of lawsuits best suited to early settlement. Kathryn seeks to gain further experience and establish a loyal relationship with clients.

Kathryn received her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami, which she attended on a Dean’s Honor Scholarship. During her tenure at the School of Law, Kathryn participated in the Race and Social Justice Law Review, Association of Caribbean Law Students, Wrongful Convictions Project, H.O.P.E. program, and Black Law Students Association, for which she served as President for the ’09 – ’10 academic period. Kathryn also earned the CALI Book Award in the Health and Elder Law Clinic for her work with clients in minority communities who needed legal assistance with obtaining various administrative benefits. Kathryn received her undergraduate degrees from Florida International University, which she attended on a full academic scholarship.

Kathryn’s desire to pursue a career in the legal field originated in her senior year of high school, where she met and was mentored by an attorney who became a teacher at the school the same year. Kathryn is grateful for the encouragement she received to pursue a legal career and is proud to have become the first attorney in her family.
