With a reputation for persuasive advocacy and deep insurance law knowledge, Abbi F. Carr has become a trusted advisor to insurers navigating complex litigation, suspected insurance fraud, and appeals that shape Florida law.

As a Partner in Roig Lawyers’ Deerfield Beach office, Abbi represents insurance carriers in high-exposure first-party property and automobile insurance litigation, with a significant focus on Special Investigation Unit (SIU) matters and insurance fraud. She partners closely with carriers and SIU professionals to investigate suspicious claims, develop early litigation strategies, conduct Examinations Under Oath (EUOs), and position cases for successful resolution before, during, and after litigation.

Abbi has extensive experience handling fraudulent and questionable claims involving material misrepresentations, staged losses, policy breaches, and other indicators of insurance fraud. She understands that effective fraud defense begins long before trial and works alongside claims professionals to identify legal issues early, preserve critical evidence, and build strong defenses that protect her clients’ interests.

As Co-Chair of Roig Lawyers’ Appellate Division, Abbi also provides strategic appellate guidance throughout every stage of litigation. She works with trial teams to preserve appellate issues, prepare dispositive motions, and handle all aspects of appellate briefing and oral argument. Her appellate practice includes matters involving statutory interpretation, constitutional issues, procedural challenges, and emerging insurance law that impact carriers throughout Florida.

A recognized educator within the insurance industry, Abbi regularly conducts Examinations Under Oath involving questionable and potentially fraudulent claims and presents continuing education courses for insurance professionals on fraud investigations, EUOs, appellate developments, claims handling, and emerging legal issues affecting carriers. She also teaches CLE seminars for attorneys through The Florida Bar.

Beyond her legal practice, Abbi remains actively involved in the legal and insurance communities through multiple bar associations, the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, and the South Palm Beach County chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers. She is also a graduate of the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Boca program.
