He has handled and tried hundreds of cases in both state and federal courts—maintaining an exceptional trial record with only one loss throughout his career. Fernando is known for his ability to resolve complex insurance and construction-related disputes efficiently, often guiding clients toward cost-effective outcomes through mediation, arbitration, and strategic negotiation.

Fernando earned his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center (1988) and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Miami (1985).
